Dim Sum Buffet! (29th March 2009)
sunday went with mom to this Mirama hotel's chinese restaurant near outram park for dim sum buffet. We didn't know the exact location of the place cos the other time when mom went there, it was with ah yi and wai po and i didn't tagged along. so she brought me here to try. So we took a cab from outram park mrt station to there. the prices are $12.80++ for weekday and $15.80++ for weekends. quite reasonable. and some of the food there was not bad. except for a few dishes which was quite common. as in the taste was quite common.
just state the number of plates you want for the category and they will serve it to you.

of all the dishes, i like this the most. pork ribs!
this porridge dun taste that nice as it looks. it is quite bland actually.
overall conclusion: i love dim sums! but too much of it makes me feel bloated so should eat in moderation ah people if you go eat buffets!
i have well spent my three off days. eating my favourite food. watching my favourite movies. meeting up and going out with my favourite people. i like to spend my days well with fun and laughter. :)
working from wednesday to saturday and i will get my long break.
taiwan trip is coming in another 8 days and i have yet to pack my stuff. there is so much stuff that i wanna bring along. i think almost everything leh. how? so i will choose my most needed and most favourite stuff to bring. i mean my clothes and my shoes. hahaha. i shall start bit by bit.

went with mom and wai po to the job fair and the food fair on sunday. had to do some registration before we can enter the place cos they will register you and give you your individual card with barcode to apply for jobs. now so high tech ah. last time they will just ask you to write down your names and particulars on a sheet of paper. now they use computer to record automatically.
there wasn't much job opportunities for jobs that were related to our diploma. if even there was, it is mostly looking for degree holders. i think we diploma holders need to take some time to wait for job openings. but it's okay still got sometime before we officially get our certificate in may. i will just work in diaso part time meanwhile while looking for suitable full time jobs.
after looking for a while, we went to the food fair! could smell the smell of food far far away. i guess i am hungry that day. haha! mommy just love to samples food a lot ah. try so many samples. but she happy can already la i also dun feel pai seh. :) actually still got lots of food i wanted to eat but we are having dinner soon.
had steamboat at golden mile complex. mummy always praise that the food there was good. but unfortunately, the steamboat that day to me wasn't up to expectation cos the ingredients wasn't quite fresh but the steamed white chicken is damn damn nice!
i wanna eat seoul garden next! feimei says she wants to eat too but when?!

Reading up...
started reading on this book for the taiwan trip two days ago. this book is really interesting. it shows you their mrt lines there all almost each station what is there to see and what nice food are available there. but the bad thing is all the words are in chinese! and the words are so tiny. "tinier" than my chinese love novel the storybook. so i will slowly digest it. the food food food excites me! i wanna try their milk tea with pearl. i think it will definitely be different from what we have here.
and i feel so bad that i didn't do much research to help them to plan for the itineary for the taiwan trip. please dun blame me. cos i only went to limited countries before. thailand is with parents when i was seriously very young cannot rememeber how old was i also. maybe like 7 years old or 8 years old? and malaysia was during fpr fieldtrip which was like in year 2007? and school already all planned for us. so that's why for the taiwan trip i dun noe how to plan also. haha. i can help you all to carry things that is if you all buy too excessively. heh.

Up your service 2-day course
okay attended this course on the 9th and 10th of march which was like long time ago. haha. now then i remembered to update about it. somemore we still have to pay 20 bucks to attend this course and get the certificate. in one way, it was quite fun in the first day. towards the second day, it was quite the same as the first day. but overall quite good to kill time. and anyway we got a certificate out of it too!

my leave for taiwan trip is approved! yay! and jiejie helped me to change $700 to taiwan currency already. now i got a big hole in my bank. i bet jiejie got a bigger hole cos she is paying for my air ticket and also for the accomodation. with the approved leave, i can't wait for taiwan trip. it is coming so soon! YAY!

my mother smsed me just now and told me that she left me some food for supper and her msg goes like this which made me dun really understand what she is trying to say.
"G o t k a m p i n g s o u p t o g o w i t h b r e a d"
her messaging style is so unique with a spacing after each alphabet. so in the end i finished work and was totally not in the mood to figure out what she way trying to say. i directly dialed feimei's number and ask what food is left at home for me. so simple!
two more days of work for this week. my food republic card is benefiting so many people with the 10% discount. and i ate something which is only $3.60 from there today for dinner. Fish!
i can't wait for the food fair on sunday! my ma la fishball wait for me!

yesterday went out with xia lah, zhifeng, manting to buy ah qiao's 21st birthday present. amanda joined us after her interview at koka. so we walked around trying to search for the present that we intended to buy for ah qiao. walked a few places but in the end bought it back at the original first place that we saw. so ya now present mission complete. but still got the other mini surprise have to finish. but that one can later since still got somemore time left.
and yesterday i saw this skirt at bugis street. very pretty. wanted to buy initially but then didn't cos dun feel like spending money on clothes but i really really need to get some new clothes! i am so sick of wearing the same few clothes. especially when going to work i keep on stealing feimei's t shirt to wear since she like to buy those big big shirts to wear. haha!
and today after driving lesson, i went to tiong bahru plaza then i bought some cake from polar and kfc and happily went to grandmother house cos i called her and said yesterday that i will come the next day but when i reached and found nobody at home i called her handphone she was at somebody's house playing mahjong. so made a wasted trip but never mind i will go there next time during my off days.
so i took the kfc home and shared with feimei who is so hungry at home and left the polar cake plastic bag hanging at grandma's door.
later going to have tom yam fried rice at bugis with siew li, that is if the shop still opens by the time we get there.
feimei is studying for her basic theory test. i think she seriously need people to wish her good luck. cos she started just like half an hour ago when the test is tml. haha.

Catching up! (8th march 2009)
work four straight days and today is my first off day! so went to causeway point with mom and we caught the movie. "Race to witch mountain". it is a movie about aliens and ufo adventure. quite thrilling and exciting to see how they help the two alien returns to their final destination. then wanted to buy some clothes but in the end i bought a 3/4 pants cos all my pants are so loose that they look like they are going to drop when i walk with it. haha!
yesterday there was so many customer at work that almost every ten minutes there are customers calling me for enquiries and i have to handle two to three of them at one go. quite tiring but at least time passes more faster. especially at the counter helping the cashier to count the number of items was even more stressful cos i had to make sure that i counted correctly and accurately. but it was fun!
this week i saw quite a lot of people at work or on the way to work. on wednesday saw siying & jq on the way to work. on thursday, jieije came over to find me to accompany me for dinner. on friday i saw amanda with her attachment colleagues. she found me arranging goods at the cosmetic section and happily showed me her two loaves of free gardenia bread.
i realised that i got some sort of phobia for heights. cos when i need to get items that are placed very high. i need to climb to the max of the ladder to get it. i get a little scared when i look down. eeeee.
tml will be out to get ah qiao's 21st birthday present. i will get to meet my TG!

French the hamster
want to know what is your pet hamster thinking at the moment. maybe these two pictures can teach you something. the first photo taken by feimei was when she was so bored that she opened french's door and hamster got a shock at what is the big piece of thing that is facing her (the camera) that she stopped eating her food and looked curiously. i think french looks very cute in that photo.
the second photo is taken by me. when i was also bored few weeks ago. i randomly took photo when she was near the cage. it shows how determined french is trying to escape out of the cage. this is the 101 action that she does every single day. not sian meh. you going to live forever with me, dun worry. hehe.
working four days these week and two days has already passed. two more days and will be getting my three consecutive offs! yay!
today jiejie came to look for me for dinner. and i had a free dinner from her today too. mini wok pork slices with egg. so damn nice. it feels so good when there is someone to accompany you to talk and eat at the same time. even the food tastes so much better. not that eating alone will die. people who dun talk too long will get bad breathe you know.
got my last poly results yesterday. and the results were not too bad. so now i am left with the certificate before i officially graduate. and i think finding a job in the food industry would be so tough. but i will try hard since my interest is still there.
okay. it is 1am now. i should go put my toner, moisturer and eye cream before i hit the bed. tata.
let me think how i am going to spend my three off days. but i will definitely take the time to go visit granny. shall choose one day out of the three days.

been eating fast food for the past few days; long john silver, burger king & subway. time to eat something healthier tml. haha. tml shall eat at food court then.
tml is the last work day of the week. and sunday shall be a happy day for me cos i can laze around at home for some time then i shall meet siying and siew li for movies. i have been craving for movies so much! only caught one recently with mom. and luckily i chose to watch that cos if we watch the one she picked i think i am gonna fall asleep in the cinema. hahaha.
today's supper is guo tiao soup from my favourite noodle stall. mama yong waited for me to come home and reheated it for me while she stole some and eat too. and now she is sleeping with a full stomach. tsk tsk tsk. later fat ah.

had my supper egg prata just now. feimei bought for me. so yum yum. perharps my leg is aching because of standing the whole day or perharps i just bought the wrong size of shoes? haha. anyway, haven seen my mother in the face for two days cos when i came home after work she was sleeping. and when i woke up she was at work.
working takes away quality time with the family. awww. half and hour later i will hit the bed. then tml morning when i wake up i must remember to re-upload the 5 semester results for ntu application.

my legs are aching! today was my first day of work at diaso. reached quite early cos it was my first day and i was rather scared. dun noe why also. then started with a mini briefing. then this lady called wei wei told me the rules there and brought me around to pack and tidy some stuff. so the whole day i had been packing and tidying. but at least time still passes very fast. so had my dinner break at 5pm and ate long john silver cos i dunnoe what to eat also. then ah qiao accompanied me cos she finished her morning shift. then around 10pm it was time for sweeping and mopping the floor. everything finished at around 10.40pm and it's home time! heh. home sweet home at 11.50pm. was running around asking my colleagues where the stuff was put at and whether diaso got sell this and that cos today so many customers were asking me. and i was in a totally blur state. haha. but overall first day still not bad la.

Class chalet @ Aloha Loyang (24th Feb 2009)
we had our class chalet at aloha loyang on the 24th of feb. first all of us except zhifeng gathered at amanda's house the bus stop to buy the ingredients from sheng shiong that we need for the bbq and also to make the tom yam soup and also the spaghetti. then we wanted to catch the shuttle bus to the chalet but wasn't quite in time. so we waited for yanni's boyfriend to come and drive us there cos he got a lorry. and halfway through it was raining and those of us behind the lorry so drenched wet. but it was quite exciting sitting behind the lorry. haha.

games time! play lots of games. heart attack, collapse, polar bear game, police and detective game, "the drink water" game. damn fun. we played until 2am plus. then they went home and left the 8 of us staying over. but we went to bed quite late at around 4am after showering and a bit more chatting.

next day's breakfast. our sunny side up came out looking slightly out of shaped and burnt. haha but still edible.
enjoyed the chalet alot! ate lot of food. and not much time to play also. starting work on wednesday. so scary!
